Adrienne Ferguson
After completing an honours degree in Drama from York University, Toronto, Canada, and a second degree in Arts in Education, Adrienne worked in Canada, Singapore and Japan, before finally settling in Vienna.
Directing credits in Vienna include: Andrew Bovells’
Speaking in Tongues (dietheatre Konzerthaus), and Patrick Marber’s
Closer (Ensemble Theatre), both for Vienna Theatre Project;
Top Girls, Spring Awakening the Musical,
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and
Blood Brothers for Vienna’s English Theatre, Youth Ensemble;
Virtual Heroes, for Vienna’s English Theatre School Tours;
The Nina Variations and
My First Time at the 1
st Film Academy; and Neil Labute’s
bash (Theatre Brett) for the E3 Ensemble. Most recently she directed the one woman show
Bad Dates and
Venus in Fur for Vienna’s English Theatre.
As Artistic Director of
Showtime, Vienna’s English Theatre’s School of Performing Arts, Adrienne has adapted and directed a variety of musical productions for an ensemble of 20-50 children onstage at Vienna’s English Theatre including:
The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, We Will Rock You, Grease, West Side Story, Cats, Beauty and the Beast,
Little Shop of Horrors, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and, most recently,
Mary Poppins.
Adrienne is a member of the International School Theatre Association where she works as an ensemble leader creating short performance pieces with groups of international theatre students; a job that has taken her to Lisbon, Dusseldorf, Istanbul, Dresden, Rome and Copenhagen.
