Simon is thrilled to be here in Vienna with Bloodshot, which he premiered at the Nuffield Theatre Southampton in 2010 and continued on tour at the Watermill Theatre Newbury and Theatre Royal Winchester this year. Other productions at the Nuffield include Waiting for Godot, Wind in the Willows and Earth and Sky by Douglas Post, all directed by Patrick Sandford.

Other theatre credits include four years playing Sam in the hit musical Mamma Mia in London’s West End (in both the PrinceEdwardTheatre and the Prince of Wales Theatre. Peter Pan (Winchester Theatre Royal), For Services Rendered, Honk (Watermill Newbury), Song of Singapore (Chichester Festival Theatre), Forbidden Broadway (West End), Sugar Hill Blues (Hampstead), Wizard of Oz (Richmond), the award winning The Great White Hope( Trycycle), as well as seasons at Farnham, Oldham, Liverpool Everyman, Theatre Royal Bristol and the Warehouse Theatre Croyden.

Simon is a familiar face on television, having made more than a hundred appearances. Credits include most recently Spooks (Kudos), two seasons of Monarch of the Glen (Ecosse Films), Hotel Babylon, Inspector Morse, Angel Cake, Passage for PTV productions filmed in Canada, Heartbeat and was a regular on The Bill playing Inspector Kite.

Simon won two awards for the audio narration of Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel and has just finished playing Chris Patten in The Iron Lady a feature film starring Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher. Other films include Dealers, The Fool and Entrapment.

As a Composer, Simon has composed original music for over 200 theatre productions, including The Deep Blue Sea, Death of a Salesman, As You Like it (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Romeo and Juliet, Henry V, Julius Caesar, The Taming of the Shrew (Royal Shakespeare Company), Treasure Island, James and the Giant Peach and is presently writing new songs for Wind in the Willows opening this Christmas at the Watermill Newbury. He has worked extensively with the director Edward Hall including Two Men of Florence (Huntington Theatre Boston), Rose Rage (Chicago and New York), Enlightenment and this month No Naughty Bits both at Hampstead Theatre. Television music includes two seasons of Dalziel and Pascoe (BBC), Inquisition and Impact Earth for Channel 5, and music for numerous programmes for BBC radio 4.

Simon is a multi instrumentalist, playing sax and clarinet, both which he teaches in London, piano, guitar, ukelele, bass etc. He has performed magic from a very young age and ever since, starting in a variety show in his home town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
