SYNOPSIS
The Magrath sisters are having a bad day, to say the least: Lenny Magrath, the eldest, is feeling old and unwanted on her 30th birthday, Meg, the “rebellious” sister, is just back after a failed singing career on the West Coast and Babe Magrath, the youngest, is out on bail after having tried to shoot her abusive husband (- she was aiming for his heart but hit him in the stomach). And if that weren’t enough, their granddaddy is dying. What follows is a dark comedy, complete with childhood jealousies, shrunken ovaries, half-eaten candy and a lifelong vendetta. The story of how the sisters escape the past to seize the future in their Mississippi home town is so touching and hilarious that it will surely linger in the mind long after the curtain has fallen.
