Some recent productions include The Importance of Being Earnest at the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Evita at Salt Lake City’s Pioneer Theatre, A Flea in Her Ear at Cincinnati’s Playhouse-in-the-Park, and Blithe Spirit at Maryland’s Olney Theatre, where he is an associate artistic director.

On Broadway he directed Tony LoBianco in Hizzoner!. Off-Broadway credits include Mart Crowley’s A Breeze From the Gulf.

Internationally, his work has been seen in Moscow, Johannesburg, Toronto and Winnipeg. Recent opera productions include Don Pasquale and The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis.

A four-time Helen Hayes Award nominee, he received the outstanding direction award for his production of The Miser at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC. Other awards include a SHOWTIME citation for Inherit the Wind, and a Dramalogue Award for The Merchant of Venice. He has served as Associate Artistic Director of Alaska Repertory Theatre, resident director for the Cleveland Play-House, and assistant to the late Sir Tyrone Guthrie during the inaugural season of the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
