Charles Babcock

Stan has appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, Newcastle and London, in the West End, at the Royal Court and most recently at the Bristol Old Vic as ‘Badger’ in Alan Bennett’s National Theatre adaptation of The Wind In the Willows. He has also appeared in many theatres throughout the UK as well as on tour in Australia, the United States, Ireland and Germany. At the English Theatre of Hamburg he played the eccentric ‘Mr. Velasco’ in Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park.

His film appearances include Leon the Pig Farmer, Jenny’s War and Great Moments in Aviation with Vanessa Redgrave. As well as television and radio work, Stan has recorded many voice-overs and is a prolific book reader for an Audio Book company on the web.

With Jonathan Milton he formed a small-scale touring company and together they have written, directed and played in three plays about Shakespeare. He is also a walking tour guide in both Stratford and London. In the last few years he has directed three large community plays with casts of over 150 in the Buckinghamshire town in which he lives. He is delighted for the opportunity to play at Vienna English Theatre, especially in a farce, and looks forward to walking in the steps of his musical hero, Mozart.
