Muriel has played in numerous repertory theatre companies around the country, her most recent credits including Arsenic and Old Lace, Driving Miss Daisy, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Richard III (Derby Playhouse), A Murder Is Announced (Bill Kenwright Tour), Habeas Corpus (Northcott Theatre, Exeter), Stevie (Nottingham Playhouse), Steaming Pack of Lies and Mumbo Jumbo (Colchester Mercury/Belfast Lyric), Pride and Prejudice (York Theatre Royal and Tour) and The Unexpected Guest (Plymouth Theatre Royal).

Her television and film credits include Casualty, Uncle Jack & the Toxic Monster, Riff Raff Element and Roughnecks (BBC TV), Big Train (Talkback), Touch of Frost (YTV) and Beautiful Love (BBC 2).

She was last heard on radio in Adventures in a Black Bag (Radio 4).
