Mattia Calabrese

Mattia was born in Guastalla, Emilia Romagna, Italy. While predominantly raised in Puglia, he began his acting journey in his hometown. His pursuit of acting in English led him to Malta and London, where he obtained two acting certificates from LAMDA, significantly enriching his craft. Alongside his dedication to acting, Mattia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Cinematography, Editing, and Directing, coupled with valuable experience as an Assistant Director and Camera Assistant on movie sets. Beyond the stage and screen, he embraces diverse interests, from his past as a professional basketball player to his musical talents, which encompass the clarinet and classical guitar.

At VETA, Mattia found not only a platform for artistic growth but a community that nurtured his talents. His time there was transformative, equipping him with essential skills for his future endeavors in the industry. Favorite roles include Pilates, the guardian Electra, Andrej (Three Sisters), Mercutio and Romeo (Romeo and Juliet), and Brutus and Edmund (Julius Caesar), and King Lear (King Lear). Grateful for his journey at VETA, Mattia eagerly anticipates fully immersing himself in the industry and sharing his art.
