The Performers
Jacob Banigan
Jacob is a 24-year veteran of impro, 12 years with the English Lovers. He was Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre in Canada for ten years. He has created and developed many lasting forms of impro, and travelled across Europe and North America performing and teaching. Jacob is an ensemble member of Theater Im Bahnhof in Graz, one third of Gordon’s Big Bald Head in Edmonton, and one half of Rocket Sugar Factory everywhere.
Jim Libby
Jim is a performer, director and catalyst. He helped to create the first fully improvised radio play for the BBC (A Time to Dance, which was nominated for a Sony Acadamy Award for best drama) the first fully improvised performance piece to be taken into the repertoire of a German state theatre (Zwischen frechem Volke, Mainfranken Theater, Würzburg) and directed the first fully improvised feature film to be produced in Austria (Another One Opens, with THE ENGLISH LOVERS, produced by Nicolas Neuhold). When Jim isn’t in Vienna, he’s traveling all over Europe and North America performing, directing, and lecturing as well as kissing, dancing and singing (not necessarily in that order).
Bronwynn Mertz-Penzinger
Bronwynn is an Australian actress who works on both stage and screen. In Vienna since 1992 she works regularly with THE ENGLISH LOVERS and the Vienna Theatre Project as well as internationally with the Orcas Island Project. She is also a CliniClown as well as Voice Over Artist, whose voice can be heard in films, TV shows, ads and at various museums throughout Austria.

Michael was born in Port-Elizabeth, South-Africa. As a native speaker of both languages, he has worked extensively in English and German productions all over Europe. In Vienna he recently starred in the Nestroy Prize-winning piece Habe die Ehre. He is also the guitar player for the extravagant ‘Christian & Michael und die Emotionale Rock- und Showband’.
Kathy Tanner
Kathy was born and almost grew up in Ireland. She has been in all aspects of the theatre including theatre, film, television and musicals, since 1979. She is a founder member of THE ENGLISH LOVERS and has performed with them for 17 years. When she grows up she will retire!!
Anne Weiner
Born in Klosterneuburg, Anne grew up in England, attending stage and ballet schools and later returning to perform in operettas, musicals, children’s theatre, TV and even the occasional opera. Her favourite productions were Jesus Christ Superstar, Die Dreigroschenoper, Blithe Spirit and Vorwärts in die Fifties. Next month she will play Amanda in an Open House Theatre production of The Glass Menagerie at Theater Brett.
Klaus Erharter
Piano
Klaus studied composition at the Music University Vienna and is musical director for theatres such as the Burgtheater, Schauspiel Hannover, etc. He also teaches at the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar Wien.
