Adrienne Ferguson

Adrienne grew up on the west coast of Canada, Vancouver Island. She graduated from the acting ensemble at York University, Toronto, where she received an Award of Excellence in Creative Work. After working in theatre, television, and film in Canada, Adrienne moved to Singapore where she was a key player in the start up of ACE School of Performing Arts and began her passion for teaching drama. In 2002 Adrienne moved to Vienna and worked for 2 seasons at the International Theatre where she appeared as the Angel Amerikana in Angels in America; Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalian; Sylvia in Sylvia, and Sylvie in The Odd Couple. In 2012 performed in the European Premiere of Black Pearl Sings! at Vienna’s English Theatre.

In 2004 Adrienne attended Queen’s University, Ontario where she received a second degree in Drama in Education. As part of her studies Adrienne facilitated drama workshops for teacher training and worked in local schools as an artist in residence. After returning to Vienna she worked closely with the Vienna based theatre company, Vienna Theatre Project, as a director, (Speaking in Tongues, Andrew Bovell, and Closer, Patrick Marber), and as an actor (The Vagina Monologues, Victoria, A Moment on the Lips). In 2006 she studied at L’Ecole Phillip Gaulier in Paris. In 2008 Adrienne became a member of the International School Theatre Association (ISTA), an organisation which invites professional artists to facilitate theatre workshops internationally; a project which has so far brought her to Lisbon, Rome and Dusseldorf.

Adrienne is passionate about drama as a way of learning about ourselves and the world we live in. “An education in drama opens up the heart and the imagination, and provides invaluable experience in working with others as a member of an ensemble.”
