John Morogiello is a Playwright in Residence at the Maryland State Arts Council in America. His plays include Engaging Shaw (Old Globe, Abingdon Theatre Company off-Broadway), Blame It On Beckett (Abingdon, Colony Theatre in L.A.), Irish Authors Held Hostage (New York’s Greenwich Street Theatre, Washington’s Warehouse Theater, and Edinburgh’s Bedlam Theatre), Men and Parts (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Gianni Schicchi (Rep Stage, Center Stage), and Chancellorsville (Kennedy Center, Canadian Stage Company).
Happy Hour, a film adaptation of Men and Parts, was named Best Short Comedy at the 2003 New York Independent Film and Video Festival and was distributed in the U.K. by Britshorts.
Mr. Morogiello is a regular contributor to The Washington Independent Review of Books and Flagpole Radio Cafe. Publications include articles for American Theatre and Dramatics.
