A thriller by James Cawood
William Findley
Robert Chappell
William is delighted to return to Austria with Vienna’s English Theatre. He played Jimmy Porter in the V.E.T.’s touring production of
Look Back in Anger by John Osbourne. It was directed by Alison Goldie in the winter of 2006/7.
He has just finished performing at The Old Vic Theatre London, in the French farce
A Flea in her Ear by Georges Feydeau, translated by John Mortimer and directed by Sir Richard Eyre. Prior to that he was in the original cast of the award winning world premiere of Spike Milligan’s
Adolf Hitler, My Part in his Downfall; a madcap comedy/jazz extravaganza based on the war memoirs of Spike Milligan, the ‘godfather of alternative comedy’, directed by Tim Carroll. It opened at the Bristol Old Vic, a Georgian theatre steeped in history that is winning the fight against the financial and political obstacles facing many theatres across the UK.
Other highlights include
A Trip to Scarborough directed by Sir Alan Ayckbourn,
Bedroom Farce directed by Nicky Henson and
Parents of the Band for the
BBC directed by Dominic Brigstocke, starring Jimmy Nail.
He also plays drums/percussion and has enjoyed the opportunity of combining acting and music not only in the Spike Milligan tour which involved playing many jazz standards, but also in
The Eva Cassidy Story starring Faye Tozer of ‘Steps fame’ as Eva Cassidy, where a more modern, blues/rock approach was required. William is married and lives in London.
