Neil’s first job, after graduating from the
Rose Bruford School of Speech & Drama in 1993, was here at The Vienna English Theatre in Bernard Shaw’s
Misalliance, and he’s delighted to be back.
An experienced character actor Neil has enjoyed a varied career, from the award winning short film comedy
Father’s Day, to
Face to Face, a play he co-wrote about restorative justice, which toured prisons & young offenders institutes in the
UK (Theatre AdAd).
As a stand up comedian Neil has toured comedy clubs and universities all over the
UK and appeared on
BBC One’s
Stand Up Show and Channel Five’s
Comedy Network.
As a writer, Neil has co-written a black comedy for
BBC Radio 4,
A Pig Too Far and a sit-com pilot for Channel Four,
Turn the World Down.
Often cast as the put-upon everyman in commercials, Neil has advertised Chewing Gum in the
USA, Salmon in
France, fizzy water in Eire and cheesy biscuits in
Germany.
He spent this summer playing his hero, Stan Laurel, in Chalkfoot Theatre’s critically acclaimed
Laurel & Hardy at the Jermyn Street theatre, Piccadilly.
