Rich Orloff lives in New York City but loves leaving the country. His comedy Romantic Fools is currently playing in Belgrade and opens in Budapest later this year. His other plays (mostly comedies) include Damaged Goods (winner, 1994 Playwrights First Award),& A Capital Affair(winner, 1995 Festival of Emerging American Theatre), Big Boys (winner, 1997 InterPlay International Play Festival), Someone´s Knocking (Back Stage Critic´s Pick, 1998), Domestic Tranquility (winner, 1999 Theatre Conspiracy New Play Contest), Shedding Light (winner, 2000 Abeles Foundation Playwrights Award), Advanced Chemistry (winner, 2002 Pickering Award for Playwriting Excellence), Foreign Affairs (New York magazine Off-Off-Broadway Pick, 2005), Skin Deep (winner, 2007 Larry Corse Playwriting Prize), and Funny as a Crutch (New York Times Critic´s Pick 2008), plus the comic revue Oy!. His play Vietnam 101: The War on Campus has been performed in theaters and colleges across the United States.

Rich short plays have received over 700 productions on six continents (and a staged reading in Antarctica. His short comedies have been published five times in the annual Best American Short Plays, twice in the annual Best Ten-Minute Plays series, and in The Art of the One-Act, The Bedford Introduction to Literature and the Chinese anthology Contemporary American Short Plays.
