Karren trained at Guildford School of Acting. Her theatre credits include: The Ladies Cage at Manchester Royal Exchange Studio; Year 10 at The Finborough, and after at BAC, then at the National Theatre of Strasbourg and again in Rennes; The Importance of Being Earnest with Shooting Fish Company; Margaret Down Under with Eastern Angles Theatre Company; Precious Bane with Pentabus Theatre Company; Sons and Lovers with Snap Theatre Company; The Browning Version and The Twelve Pound Look at Bath Theatre Royal and on Tour A Doll’s House and Electra with Compass Theatre Company; A Clockwork Orange and Crystal Clear on National Tour; Oliver! at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury; Jimmy Cliff at Theatre 503; Beating Time at Lewisham Theatre; Much Ado About Nothing and Easy Virtue at the Lilian Baylis Theatre and Love From Shakespeare to Coward at Covent Garden.

Her Television and Film credits include: Dr Who, Julian Fellowes’ Most Mysterious Murders, A Fight to the Death – The David Kelly Story, and The Damilola Taylor Investigation, all for the BBC; The Bill for Talkback Thames, After Now and True for Channel 4, To Kill Again for Newlyn Productions, Sam’s Story for The Edge Picture Company.

Her Radio credits include Hard Road for BBC Radio 4, The Third Wright Brother and The New Writing South Season for BBC Radio Kent.
