James trained at The London Centre for Theatre Studies. His recent theatre credits include ‘Bollingbroke’ in
Richard 11 and ‘Duke Vincentio’ in
Measure for Measure both for Demi Paradise Productions; ‘Duke of Milan’ in
Two Gentlemen of Verona, for Theatre Set-up; ‘Grumio/Gremio’ in
Taming of the Shrew and ‘Gonzalo/Trinculo’ in
The Tempest; ‘Chief Weasel’ in
Wind in the Willows; ‘The Mad Hatter’ in
Alice in Wonderland and ‘Alan’ in
School for Wives, all for Channel Theatre; and ‘Noel’ in
The Belle of Bonavista Bay for Forest Forge.
He has toured
Marrying the Mistress for Kenneth Wax Productions and
Dial M for Murder for Middle Ground Theatre Co. James has also appeared in panto at The Royal Opera house in Buxton playing Alderman Fitzwarren in
Dick Whittington and Baron Hardup in
Cinderella.
His Television credits include
Casualty, Hetty Wainthrop Investigates and
The Lakes for
BBC TV;
Big Meg Little Meg and
Love Lies Bleeding for Granada TV and Weekend Stories for
WDR TV.
James is delighted to be back in Vienna again, having been here in 2000 playing Phileas Fogg in
Around the World in 80 Days.
He is a keen supporter of Stoke City Football Club but often wishes that he had been born somewhere else…like Chelsea or Manchester!
