Tim Hardy
Tim trained at the The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In Vienna he has appeared as The Spartan in
Lysistrata directed by Peter Hall and sung Don Magnifico in
Cenerentola for Music Theatre London which played in the Music Festival. For Vienna’s English Theatre he played Michael in
Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me and last year directed
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
London appearances include
Marat Sade directed by Peter Brook and
Henry V both for the
RSC and the Broadway transfers, Perchik in
Fiddler on the Roof, Hotspur in
Henry IV and Dauphin in
Henry V, Rupert in
Melon by Simon Gray, Dougie in
Mary Barnes by David Edgar, Joe Manjkiewicz in
Judy, Dad in
Mad and her Dad, and Cavafy in
Days of Cavafy.
In America Tim has played Leontes in
Winter’s Tale and Mercutio in
Romeo and Juliet.
For Music Theatre London he has sung the roles of Sarastro in
Magic Flute, Bartholo in
Figaro, Commendatore in
Don Giovanni all of which were performed in London, Hamburg and Amsterdam.
Tim’s TV work includes Arthur Taylor in
Oscar Wilde, running characters in
Take Three Women,
Eastenders and Families, Ross in
Macbeth and
Eleventh Hour.
His film credits inlude
The Duellist, Marat Sade, Nothing But The Best and most recently
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. Tim has also narrated over 100 documentaries for the Discovery and History channels.
After playing Michael in
Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me in Vienna two years ago, Tim returned to London to sing the role of Don Magnifico in Rossini’s
Cenerentola at the Drill Hall. He then played Peer in Ibsen’s
Peer Gynt at the Battersea Arts Centre, also in London.
Tim has directed since 1989. His productions include
The Royal Hunt of the Sun, by Peter Shaffer, in Michigan, and
The Merchant of Venice in Illinois. In England he has directed an all-female production of
Troilus and Cressida,
The Doll’s House by Ibsen and
An Absolute Turkey by Georges Feydeau at the Electric Theatre Guildford.
Tim is on the audition panel at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he also directs and teaches.
