Christabel trained at RADA and was the youngest in the year that graduated in the summer of 2000. In her final year her roles included Kitty Stratten in Thark, a 1920s farce by Ben Travers; Cassandra in Troilus & Cressida; Friar Jacomo in The Jew of Malta; and Bertha in Acrington Pals.

From RADA she went straight into the popular ITV drama series Peak Practice where she created the role of Leanne Shackleton, the nanny, a role she played for the next year and a half, completing two series.
