Rodney Ford

Rodney has previously designed Deathtrap and Someone Who’Ll Watch Over Me for this theatre so is beginning to feel rather at horne here.

He has enjoyed a long career in theatre spanning some 40 years having started as a Gentleman Super (Extra) at The Royal Opera House whilst serving with the Grenadier Guards. On leaving the army he gained employment at The Birmingham Rep Theatre as painterlprop maker, from there to the then brand new Nottingham Playhouse where, engaged as a prop maker, he designed his first shows. The rest is history – as they say.

Rodney has since worked throughout Britain, including three West End musicals, and throughout the world. He is currently Head of Design at The Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch from where a new tout of the highly successful rock musical Return to the Forbidden Planet is being launched. He has al ready designed the show ten times! There are plans to tout the show throughout Europe so it might be coming to a theatre ne ar you.
