Lothar Hüttling
Lothar was born in Wiesbaden 1969, and now lives and works in Vienna. During his studies he worked as a trainee for Der Troubadour, directed by Hans Neuenfels, at the Deutschen Oper, Berlin in 1995.
Since 1997 he went to study stage and costume design at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna, and graduated in 2002.During his studies there he designed several productions – both set and costumes – for the Ernst Busch Highschool in Berlin.
In 2000 he was Assistant Stage Designer at the Akademie and Burgtheater in Vienna. Since 2002 he has been assistant to the costume-designer Erika Navas at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt on a production of Noch ist Polen nicht verloren; has designed Richard III for the Stadttheater Innsbruck and designed several productions for the summer festivals at Reichenau.
2004 saw him working in Switzerland at the Stadttheater Solothurn and Théâtre du Grutli in Geneva as stage and costume-designer.
Last year he designed Das Orchester at the Burgtheater-Casino and the comic opera Der Graf von Luxenburg which was directed by Michael Schottenberg as part of the Wiener Festwochen at Theater an der Wien and at Volksoper Wien.
