Mark was born in Sunderland and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He has worked all over the UK as well as Vienna, Lisbon, Berlin, Athens, Frankfurt and Jerusalem.

Theatre work includes The Master and Margarita, Venus and Adonis, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, Henry IV Part One, The Three Musketeers, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Charley’s Aunt, Macbeth, Measure for Measure, An Ideal Husband at the Old Vic, and Hamlet (both directed by Sir Peter Hall), Salome (directed by Steven Berkoff), Noises Off, The Importance of Being Earnest, Neville’s Island, The Power of Yes at the National Theatre, The Browning Version and South Downs in the West End, Lend Me a Tenor, Venus in Fur and The Children at Vienna’s English Theatre and four seasons in Pitlochry performing in sixteen plays, including Present Laughter, Hello Dolly, The Lady in the Van and Travesties.

Mark’s TV and film appearances include A Hazard of Hearts, The Monk, Lady Jane (directed by Trevor Nunn), Eastenders, The Bill, Peak Practice, Gory Greek Gods, Inspector George Gently and Emmerdale, playing the regular role of Andrew Fraser.

Mark is also an experienced voice actor being a regular reader of audiobooks and with very many commercial and drama credits. He recently played Number Six in the third series of The Prisoner for Big Finish.
