Richard’s theatre work includes the English National Opera’s production of Chess (Coliseum, West End), Alain Boublil’s new musical Manhattan Parisienne (The Other Palace); Alan Ayckbourn’s A Chorus of Disapproval directed by Trevor Nunn (West End), Homer in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (La Pietra, Florence), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at Wilton’s Music Hall, Les Enfants Terribles’ The Vaudevillains (Assembly, Edinburgh), the British premiere of Eugene O’Neill’s The First Man (Jermyn Street Theatre), Adolphus Cousins in Shaw’s Major Barbara (West 52nd St Theatre, New York City), Hamlet and A Man of No Importance (Salisbury Playhouse), The Beggar’s Opera, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Jane Eyre and Sleuth (Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch), Willie Mossop in Hobson’s Choice, Mr Cinders, Great Expectations, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Joking Apart and Bedroom Farce (Jill Freud & Company); Dombey & Son and A Christmas Carol (Royal Theatre Northampton), The Taming of the Shrew (GSC), The Tempest (RETZ), Twelfth Night and The Old Curiosity Shop (Royal Touring); Macheath in The Threepenny Opera, Twelfth Night, Tess and The Mayor of Casterbridge (Forest Forge), Pickwick and The Wind in the Willows (Haymarket Theatre Basingstoke).

His screen work include the feature film The Last Photograph directed by Danny Huston, Daniel Hammersley’s film Radio, the Prime Minister in the Non-Multiplex Cinema film The Offering and the film version of The First Man directed by Hardeep Giani.

Richard is thrilled to be making his debut with Vienna’s English Theatre and delighted to be working once again with director Sean Aita, having appeared in Sean’s productions of Deathtrap (Jill Freud and Company), Lady Windermere’s Fan (Royal Theatre, Northampton) and with Forest Forge Theatre Company in Sean’s productions of The Lost World and as Horner in The Country Wife.
