Helen is happy to return to the stage of Vienna’s English Theatre, having made her debut here in 1994 as part of the cast of Woody Guthrie’s American Song. She returned to the Vienna’s English Theatre in 2016 as performer and co-devisor of Woody Sez: The Life and Music of Woody Guthrie. Originally from Frederick, Maryland, Helen spent over 30 years as an actor/musician in and about New York City, where she co-founded The City Singers, an a capella choir and performance group. Her debut CD, Holly Days, was released in 2008 and a second is slowly in the works.
After many years of touring the world through her association with “guitar theater”, she now happily resides in Vienna, her favorite city in the world. In addition to being part of the team at the newly launched
VETA (Vienna’s English Theatre Academy), she might be found on the piano at a
SHOWTIME performance, as a band member in a V.E.T. Youth Ensemble production, or in the front or back of house during the regular season. She teaches guitar and piano lessons and, in the new year, will be offering a beginner’s ukelele class at
SHOWTIME, Vienna’s English Theatre’s Youth Performing Arts School.
