Sebastian is delighted to be playing at Vienna’s English Theatre. His Grandfather arrived in England from Vienna in 1911 and Sebastian is really looking forward to spending some time viewing the beautiful city that his Grandfather grew up in.
He is especially pleased to be working with Philip Dart again, the director of tonight’s production. This will be the third time that they have worked together, the other two occasions being when Sebastian played Captain Bluntschli in Arms and The Man for The Malvern Festival and Colin in Benefactors by Michael Frayn.
Other work includes Papa Gonzales in Summer & Smoke at The Apollo Theatre London, Stanley Kowalski in Streetcar at The Library Theatre in Manchester, Bill Sykes in Oliver at Theatre Clwyd, Christopher Isherwood in I am a Camera for The Plymouth Theatre Company and most recently Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night for The Original Theatre Company.
Sebastian has been seen many times on TV; he has played leading roles in two
BBC ‘Play For Today’s and is probably best remembered for his role as Dick the Groom in the
ITV series Flambards.
He has appeared in Theatre all over the UK and at the beginning of his career was privileged to join Lindsay Anderson’s Lyric Theatre Company in the West End where he worked with Joan Plowright and Dame Helen Mirren. From there he was cast in the iconic War Film A Bridge Too Far where he joined ‘Attenborough’s Private Army’ (
APA) and in one of the hottest summers on record in 1976 had enormous fun making the film. Sebastian has just completed a book titled “The Boys from The Bridge” recounting the extraordinary events that occurred during the making of the film which will be published on June 28th just before the end of the run.
