Julian Eardley

Bobby Franklin

Julian was raised in the North West of England, educated in Wales and now lives in Sittingbourne in Kent – The Garden of England.

In Austria and Germany, Julian played Feste in a tour of Twelfth Night and the Nurse in a Castles Tour of Romeo and Juliet.

In Winchester, Julian has played the Dame role in 6 of their recent pantomimes – Dame Dottie Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk, Smelle Bottom in Beauty and the Beast and Widow Twanky in Aladdin being his favourites.

He recently played Father Christmas in FC’s Christmas List (Proteus), Hedge Trimming Warder in Xerxes for English National Opera (Coliseum), Fezziwig / Topper in Eternally Scrooged (Theatre in the Mill, Belfast), Uncle Hocus in Sprout (Proteus), Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol (Riverside, Coleraine), Pellinor in the musical Pendragon (Tour of Welsh Castles), Inspector Fix in Around the World in 80 Days (Proteus) and an Ugly Sister in Cinderella (Palace, Westcliff).

Some of Julian’s favourite roles include: Binky the Cat in The Mission (Proteus), Jim, the Evil Choir Master in the film Sleeping Beauty (Cheek2Cheek Productions), Elvis in Suspicious Minds (Bridewell), Title Role in Richard III (Oxford), Gypetto in Pinocchio (No. 1 Tour), Nurse Fatima in Sinbad (Proteus), Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice (Tour), Mr. Boaden in Contested Will and Max Brod in Kafka’s Dick (Etcetera Theatre).

Julian played Murray Franklin for 4 series of BBC Radio 4’s Sit-Com Like They’ve Never Been Gone alongside British Comedy Greats June Whitfield, Roy Hudd and the late Pat Coombs.

Julian is so pleased to be back in Vienna for another season after playing Dickie Bell in last year’s Fox on the Fairway. After Dickie’s bad taste in jumpers and dinner jackets he is hoping that this year Bobby will be a little more stylish – well a boy can hope!
