Roger Bingham

Rev. Canon Chasuble

Roger is delighted to be working at Vienna’s English Theatre having previously spent only one day in the City whilst on holiday in Salzburg. Roger’s other Austrian links include his first holiday abroad in the Tyrol, indulging his love of music by directing a production of  Amadeus and playing Rolf in The Sound of Music when he remembers his traditional trousers being so tight he could hardly ride his bicycle.

His acting work includes numerous tours of the UK and most regional repertory theatres, along with seasons in London including Night of the Iguana, Pygmalion and Trelawny of the Wells at the National Theatre.

Recent Theatre work includes National tours of  The Winter’s Tale and Dead Fish and I Have Been Here Before at Watford Palace Theatre, The Candidate at The Royal Exchange, Manchester and There Goes the Bride and How the Other Half Loves at Sheringham. Roger lives in Sheffield and earlier this year appeared in Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People at the grand reopening of the Crucible Theatre in his home City. Roger has directed over sixty stage plays and is also a familiar face on film and British television with credits including Midsomer Murders, Heartbeat, Peak Practice, Casualty, Coronation Street, Eastenders and  The League of Gentlemen.
