Alex studied English and Latin at Jesus College, Oxford, graduating with first class honours in 1999. He continued his postgraduate studies at the London School of Musical Theatre.

His recent work as a puppeteer includes Bird and Dragon in Room on the Broom, UK National Tour and Midnight at the Peacock Theatre, London. His other recent credits include playing Hortensio in The Taming of the Shrew, and Speed in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, for the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in his home town of Guildford; Murphy in The Secret Diary of a Chav at London’s Tristan Bates Theatre, the transvestite Ms Craig in Enjoy, York Theatre Royal; Spiro in Sudden Deaths, Farnham Repertory; Ariel in The Tempest, Winchester Theatre Royal; Blood Brothers, Phoenix Theatre, London; How the Other Half Loves and Barefoot in the Park, Sidmouth Pavilion Theatre Repertory Season; First Witch in Macbeth, Union Theatre, London; When Midnight Strikes, Cochrane Theatre, London; and the black comedy Non-Scene at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Alex has been very fortunate in visiting forty-two states of the USA and Canada, with the musical shows The Gruffalo and Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! He has recently translated The Gruffalo into German for Junges Theater Bonn.

He is very, very happy to be a part of A Capital Affair and to see Vienna for the first time. Er freut sich auch sehr, dass er seine Deutschkenntnisse verbessern kann!
