ames Dybas has been featured on Broadway in the original productions of Richard Rodgers, Arthur Laurents and Stephen Sondheim’s Do I Hear A Waltz? originating the role of Vito Di Rossi, George M! directed by Joe Layton, Via Galactica directed by Sir Peter Hall, and again for Sondheim, John Weidman and Hal Prince, in Pacific Overtures as the seventy year-old man who remembers being “Someone In A Tree” and the French Admiral extolling the merits of Dentente.

He’s guested on television’s Sins Of The City, Miami Vice, A Team, and Knots Landing among others. Regional theater credits include featured roles in Lion In Winter, Camelot, Big River, Tovarich, La Cage Aux Folles, Romeo & Juliet, Kiss Me Kate, The Sea Gull, 42nd Street – playing the role of Andy Lee for over 1000 performances in L.A., on Broadway and across the U.S.A. And last but not least, starred as Barnum, walking the high wire aboard the SS Norway in the 700 seat Saga Theater.

Mr. Dybas is a six-time recipient of the Los Angeles Drama-Logue Critics Award and has played such diverse roles as Tristan Tzara in Travesties, Neville Landless in Drood!, Jigger in Carousel, Tom in That Championship Season, King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar, Walter in Chess, Guido Contini in Nine as well as creating the role of revolutionary poet Villanazul in Ray Bradbury and Jose Feliciano’s The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit at the Pasadena Playhouse.

He can be seen on the big screen fighting his way out of Rod Steiger’s death row in Guilty As Charged and along with Nicolette Sheridan and Elliott Gould in ABC’s movie of the week Somebody’s Daughter directed by Joe Sargeant. Mr. Dybas has toured the U.S.A. (45 cities), Toronto and Tokyo as Harry The Horse in the Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls, played the role of The King in The King And I, and has been “back on the boards” in the Broadway companies of Sunset Blvd and The Scarlet Pimpernel.

During the last several years regional theater performances include roles in Phantom, Plaza Suite, Jekyll & Hyde, Breaking Legs, Annie Get Your Gun, Shooting Craps, Beauty & The Beast. This evening he’s recreating the role of Tino De Felice a role he had the pleasure of playing at the Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo, N.Y. Many thanks to director Gavin Cameron-Webb.
