Barry trained at The Drama Centre, and most recently has appeared at The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry in Fantastic Mr Fox. Barry has played at almost all the major rep theatres with seasons at Coventry, Leicester, Edinburgh and Liverpool. He has appeared in a number of Ayckbourn plays and in fact first met this evening’s Director, Tim Hardy, whilst they both toured in The Norman Conquests. They subsequently worked together in George Bernard
Shaw’s St. Joan.
He has appeared in the West End as the Lion in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and also in John, Paul, George, Ringo and Bert. Barry has worked on numerous occasi6ns for television, both for the
BBC and the independent companies. He was recently seen in the popular series The Bill and has also played regular characters in a number of sit-coms over the years including Faith in the Future, Lift Without George and Bread. He has also
worked for
BBC Radios 4 and 5.
Barry has also directed The Bear for Coventry, Accrington Pals and Daughters of Venice for The Watermans Arts Centre and Random Selection for the Edinburgh Festival.
