Family Man opposite Julie Walters, Chess Game with Terence Stamp, Affairs 0/ the Heart with Derek Fowlds and Travelling Man with Leigh Lawson have been his favourite roles but it was Phil Pearce in Emmerdale for three years that put his face firmly on the screen. Since leaving Emmerdale Peter played St. John in the last series of All Creatures Great and Small, Nigel in
YTV’s comedy series Singles and episodes of Coronation Street, Brookside, Heartbeat, Medics, The Bill (2 episodes as Steve Orten and a recent Christmas episode as a Pantomime Dame!), Eastenders, Mission Top Secret and he played Sir Francis Drake in How We Used to Live. Peter appeared in 24 episodes of Tuesdays and Thursdays,
ITV’s daytime ‘soap’ in the central role of Martin, Hollyoaks as Mr Finnigan – Finn’s Dad and most recently Mr Sherlaw-Johnson in At Home With the Braithwaites.
When not busy in the theatre, Peter enjoys his golf, his wine and his family and home, which is tucked away in the he art of the Pennines.
