Dennis Kozeluh

Reverend Tooker

Dennis was born in Montana, USA, came to Vienna in 1983 with his university choir and stayed to study with Otto Edelmann. He soon began performing in Vienna and has played in most of the major musicals here (Phantom der Oper, The Rocky Horror Show, Kuss der Spinnenfrau, Rebecca,  and Elisabeth to name a few) as well as in plays such as Educating Rita, Blithe Spirit, Waking Jake and  Blast from the Past . Other engagements include: Amstetten (Sweet Charity - Oscar), Bruck (Sweeney Todd - Judge Turpin, Evita – Juan Peron), Klagenfurt (Das Dschungelbuch - Shir Khan), Hamburg (Mozart!) and Strasbourg (Showboat - Captain Andy). Recently seen, again in Klagenfurt, as the Reverend Shaw Moore  in the musical Footloose, Dennis performed last fall in a 4-voice musical cabaret night at the Kabaret Vindobona and in Musical Christmas 2010 for the Vereinigten Bühnen Wiens in the double function of performer and director.

He has written and directed two musicals for children and most recently taught in Austrian prisons as part of a project in cooperation with Das Wiener Kindertheater and Das Mozart Jahr. He has directed shows at Kabaret Simpl and the Metropol, the Vindobona, the Stadthalle and the Ronacher, and last Easter directed a semi-staged concert of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Raimund Theater. Dennis also played in Die Heisse Spur (ORF) for some years and can be seen in the films Underworld, The Peacekeeper, and Business for Pleasure.

Co-founder of the improvisational theatre group The English Lovers (which currently celebrated its 11th Birthday), Dennis lives in the spa town Bad Deutsch-Altenburg with his wife, 3 children and 2 cats, not always strictly in that order.
